Naturist Colonies

Naturist coloniesAlthough naturist colonies and communities operate under diverse social parameters, the one belief that every naturist shares is a conviction that the practice of going with clothes is perfectly acceptable. Some may view naturism as an important component of their core philosophy about life. Others simply enjoy the freedom of being able to congregate, socialise and enjoy activities together without concerns about clothing. At Naturist Community, we welcome all naturists seeking to enhance their social life with like-minded people.

No matter what an individual naturist’s approach to the lifestyle may be, acceptance is the key to successful naturist colonies. Acceptance is one of the reasons that people are drawn to the lifestyle. It’s not only that the trappings of status and wealth are less important when everyone is nude but also an understanding that the human body doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. The relief that comes from shedding worries about body image is almost palpable. There’s a real feeling of equality and camaraderie in naturist colonies, born out of an understanding that you are accepted just as you are.

Often, there’s an aura of homecoming in naturist colonies as well. Because nudity is forbidden in so many societies, naturists can experience a feeling of real relief when they discover a community that allows them to be themselves. When naturist communities enjoy holidays together at resorts that embrace their lifestyle, it can feel like rediscovering Paradise. The feeling of sun and surf against bare skin is both invigorating and relaxing. It’s no wonder that naturists on holiday are some of the most relaxed and friendly people that you will ever meet.

Because naturists are freed from the outer trappings that people so often use to judge and categorise others, they tend to develop an understanding that it’s that inner character of a person that really matters. The fear that newcomers may have that they’ll be criticised for their physical appearance is entirely unfounded. At Naturist Community, we welcome naturists who want to meet and socialise with people with like temperaments, interests and lifestyles.

Robert Jessie True but what I find thats sad is the fact that there are less persons of color Participateat any resort. I wish that would change. It seams no one has tried to educate other cultures of our exsistance, or the practice of nude recreation.

Jacques P Ted: I'm not sure what you want exactly, but as a start, maybe you should look at the American Association of Nude Recreation, the AANR
    http://www.aanr.com/
If you have a specific area of the US in mind, there are more options, though.
